Thai Bodywork gives the benefits of massage, yoga, and energy work in one nurturing dance. It is an ancient healing art form practiced in Thailand. … Traditionally given on a floor mat with clients fully clothed, Thai bodywork is a whole-body treatment.
There are several types of massage that focus on different parts of the body or healing approaches. Massage is the practice of rubbing and kneading the body using the hands. During a massage, a massage therapist will apply gentle or strong pressure to the muscles and joints of the body to ease pain and tension.
Suggested donation is 25.00 per person, or 40.00 per couple.
Class will start at 9:00 am and end around 11:30 am. We want to have a late brunch with Mimosas so bring a dish to share.
Ashtanga Yoga is a set practice that involves practicing the same yoga postures over and over. Doing an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga practice involves much more than merely doing the asanas enumerated in the Primary Series. As a sequence, the primary series is the foundation of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga practice. It plants the seeds that will grow into the other sequences.
It takes on average 90 minutes to complete the Full Primary Series – longer than the most yoga or fitness classes. The traditional method also asks you to practice six days a week.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is made up of six series (Primary, Intermediate and four Advanced Series) each of which has a set order of poses. Each of the six series begins with Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations) 5 of the A variation and 5 of the B variations, followed by the standing sequence.
Ashtanga is also a great way to incorporate the meditative side of yoga. By having a set progression throughout the practice, you are able to focus more on the breath. The Ashtanga Yoga tradition is great for beginners and seasoned yogis alike.
Ashtanga Yoga is for people who like a challenging and highly structured practice. Sequences are predefined based on your personal level. The poses are done in a constant flow and at your own pace. Ashtanga Yoga is one of the more popular styles of yoga and was introduced by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 1975.
Sara Perez has been practicing Ashtanga for 12 years and has taught Ashtanga all over the world. She will be breaking down every Asana as well as showing more advanced moves. This class is designed for beginners as well as that more advanced students.
If you are interested in the Ashtanga Yoga Class, please contact us for more information. All class participants will receive a handout with different Ashtanga Poses. This is an ADVANCED CLASS!!!
